Eligibility Requirements for Registering to Vote:           

1.
Must be a United States citizen, and resident of the county 30 days prior to an election.
2. Must be at least 18 years old or 17 years old and will be 18 years old on or before the next General election.
3. May not currently be under conviction, probation or parole for a felony, treason or election bribery.
4. May not have been judged mentally incompetent in a court of competent jurisdiction.

 

Where May I Register to vote?

Please bring ID with your date of birth and Cabell County address.
 
You may print an online form and complete it and mail to the above address.  
You may request a form by calling (304)526-8633.  
You may also pick up a form at your local library or government office.  

NOTE** IF YOU REGISTER BY MAIL YOU MUST SHOW PROPER ID THE FIRST TIME YOU VOTE .
 

Once each year, we visit each high school and register all eligible persons.
 

Registration and Residency Deadline
 

The registration deadline is 20 days prior to an election.
 
You must be a resident of Cabell County 30 days prior to the election.  

Military and Overseas Voters
 

Military personnel and their spouses may register and voter using their last physical address in Cabell County. All military bases provide Federal Post Card Registration forms which also serve as absentee ballot requests.  Forms may also be obtained from the internet to register and written requests for absentee ballots may be sent with the registration form.
 

"No Excuse" Early Voting
 

Residents of Cabell County may vote in person at the County Clerk's Office beginning 20 days prior to the election. Early voting is open to all registered voters.
 

Absentee by Mail
 

Voters who are unable to vote in person on election day or during the no excuse early voting period may request an application to vote by mail.  Please contact the Voter Registration office to request an application.
